Fisher House offers a home away from home for injured military personnel, many of whom served in Iraq and Afghanistan and continue to return to the hospital for more surgery, and personnel who are receiving treatment for illness – from cancer care to transplants. Guests have described Fisher House as 'one big hug' and 'a place that takes away all your problems'. It costs the charity £40 a night to host a military family in their time of need.
